Matthew lost his Right leg below the knee as a result of a work accident and subsequent complications from Diabetes and vascular issues in January of 2018. While in the hospital, he received little to no education on his amputation and vowed to not let that happen to other amputees. He is passionate about speaking and educating new, and learning from veteran amputees through support groups, his Facebook group Amputee Road Show, and his work with Hanger Clinic.
Matthew leads a “normal” life, rock-climbing, golfing, mountain biking, and being active in his daily life. Matthew is also a Certified Peer Visitor with the Amputee Coalition and is available for pre and post-operative visits to hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities.
