Shelley is a licensed Physical Therapist for Hanger Clinic in Portland, Maine with nearly three decades of experience. Her special interests include prosthetic rehabilitation treatment and education.
In 2006, Shelley joined the faculty at the University of New England as an adjunct professor. There she assists in the instruction and education provided to the physical therapy students on amputation rehabilitation. Shelley has lectured regionally and nationally to other allied healthcare practitioners on this same topic.
In 2018, Shelley, along with several Hanger Clinic colleagues, developed a Clinical Practice Guideline for gait training post-amputation which was accepted as a poster presentation at the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Outside of the clinic, Shelley enjoys spending time with her family and taking advantage of the variety of outdoor activities Maine has to offer. She was a competitive cross country skier in her early years and can be found enjoying a quick ski with friends or her faithful Labrador retriever, Clover, most winter weekends.
