Billing & Insurance
At Hanger Clinic, we believe in empowering you with the financial counseling and resources needed to help you make the right decisions about your care, and are committed to making the billing and insurance processes as straightforward as possible. As such, we will provide you with information about the insurance verification process, an estimate of costs associated with services, details on your financial responsibility, and options for payment prior to the receipt of service, when applicable.
We’ve partnered with InstaMed to provide a convenient, secure payment portal. You can pay as a guest user without creating an account, or create an account to access more features like payment history, e-statements, and automatic payments.
If you would like to make a payment over the phone, call (844) 727-0735.
Financing is available through CareCredit, a GE Money company that offers no-interest and low-interest payment plans based on your needs and budget.
For questions about the status of a refund that has already been requested, please call (844) 727-0735. (Note that refund requests are typically processed within 30 days.)
For questions regarding refund requirements and return policies, or to request a refund, please contact your local clinic.
Most of the orthotic and prosthetic services provided by Hanger Clinic are covered by health insurance, including Medicare Part B, but the amount of coverage available varies based on your specific insurance.
In most cases, some percentage of patient responsibility is required to be paid out-of-pocket by the patient at the time the orthosis or prosthesis is delivered–the amount depends on your insurance and the device you are receiving. Insurance plans may have benefit maximums, and only cover up to a certain amount for a specific service.
Hanger Clinic is in-network with more than 2,500 insurance providers, helping you get the highest coverage possible under your plan. If we are not in-network with your provider, we are still happy to provide orthotic or prosthetic services, but you may be responsible for a larger percentage of the cost, subject to the out-of-network rate set by your insurance plan.
Once you provide us with your insurance information, our experienced office staff will verify your benefits with your insurance carrier to determine the amount of coverage available for your orthotic or prosthetic services. If needed, our staff will also obtain prior authorization from your insurance company. Our office staff will then provide you with an estimate of your portion of the costs prior to your orthotic and prosthetic service being provided. Please note–a prescription is required for most services.
For help understanding your insurance, check with your insurance carrier. You can also use this Glossary of Healthcare Terms to explain common terminology.
*This information does not cover all situations and should not be construed to be an all-inclusive listing of all possible situations. As part of our commitment of service to you, we will make every attempt to verify your insurance benefits at the time your services are rendered. However, insurance verification or authorization is not a guarantee of insurance payment. This only allows our office to provide you with a preliminary estimate of any money due by the insured on or before the time of delivery of the device. Your patient portion is subject to change based on final claim determination by your insurance carrier.
We have a comprehensive understanding of Medicare regulations and reimbursements and are happy to answer your questions regarding eligibility, bills, deductibles, and Medicare notices.

Denied claims: If your claim is denied by your insurance company, we are happy to assist in filing an appeal, upon request and completion of necessary paperwork.
Warranty: Hanger Clinic warrants each custom device made by Hanger Clinic to be free from defective workmanship and/ or parts, under normal service and use, for six (6) months from the delivery date.
Insurance often does not cover the entire cost of orthotic and prosthetic care, but there are organizations available to assist.
