Microaggressions are often unintentional expressions of racism, sexism, ageism, or ableism. They come out in seemingly innocuous comments by people who might be well-intentioned. They can make a workplace feel uncomfortable, unsafe, and toxic.
Join us for the latest in the PowerUp webinar series where a panel of O&P leaders will discuss microaggressions, talk about their impact on individuals and the work environment, and share experiences and best practices for addressing them with co-workers and patients.
Objectives
Upon completion of this program, learners will be able to:
- Define workplace microaggressions
- Recognize when a microaggression has occurred and what message it may be sending
- Design strategies for how to address microaggressions in the workplace

Kathleen is involved in several O&P professional organizations and serves as the Chair of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) Student Resident Committee and is a Regional Residency Liaison for the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE).
Robert Salone, BOCO, BOCP

Robert has worked as a clinician and a Business Development Manager for Hanger Clinic, and currently serves as Clinic Manager. He is a BOC-certified orthotist/prosthetist working to help the industry become more inclusive and diverse.
