Learn. Share. Live.
Sharing experiences, challenges, and fears with others can reveal solutions, hope, and new possibilities.
Beyond clinical care, we connect people to one another through AMPOWER®, a peer-to-peer support program for people with limb loss or limb difference.
The mission of AMPOWER is to empower and strengthen those affected by amputation or limb difference through peer mentorship, education, and community. It consists of a nationwide network of trained peer mentors who have successfully recovered and rehabilitated following amputation and want to share their personal experiences with you.
AMPOWER peer mentors can connect with you and your loved ones in person, over the phone, or online. They can help:
- Answer a range of basic questions about the recovery process, using a prosthesis, and the concerns of daily living
- Provide emotional support, with a firsthand understanding of the grieving process
- Share information and resources
Our YouTube channel features a variety of videos developed for the limb loss and limb difference community. From resources to patient stories to events and tips and tricks, there is something for everyone.
There are a range of organizations that provide support for individuals with limb loss, mobility difficulties, and other health issues.
Our glossary of orthotic and prosthetic terms can help familiarize you with common terms and shorthand frequently used in the clinic setting.
