Devin is an ABC-certified prosthetist/orthotist for Hanger Clinic in Chicago, Illinois.

As a clinician with more than 7 years of experience in the field, Devin specializes in pediatrics. He is skilled in prosthetic and orthotic management of cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), plagiocephaly, idiopathic scoliosis, neuromuscular scoliosis, muscular dystrophy, idiopathic toe walking, clubfoot, arthrogryposis, Blount’s disease, pectus deformities, and congenital hip dysplasia.

Devin also has a strong interest in pathological gait. Working with patients of all ages to improve mobility, he focuses on using the latest patient care techniques and technologies. Devin is skilled in prosthetic technologies including subischial transfemoral socket design, elevated vacuum suspension, microprocessor knees, microprocessor feet, myoelectric hands, and pattern recognition control systems. His orthotic technologies expertise includes 3D scanning shape acquisition, 3D printed orthoses, functional electrical stimulation (FES), and dynamic energy-storing materials.

Seeing how mobility issues or pain impact quality of life, Devin takes great pride in understanding each patient’s unique challenges and goals to develop the best prosthetic or orthotic intervention for their specific needs. He is also committed to helping families of pediatric patients demystify the healthcare process to make it less intimidating. Devin’s number one goal is to help them understand the how and why of orthotic management, while making it a fun and comfortable experience for their child. 

Devin works with physical therapists and occupational therapists at La Rabida Children’s Hospital during weekly pediatric orthotic clinics to formulate and deliver individual orthotic management solutions for complex pediatric pathologies. In conjunction with the physical therapy staff, he also manages the transition of orthotic care for complex pediatric disorders into adulthood for young adults in a rehabilitative setting at Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education orthotic clinic.

Outside of work, Devin has a passion for fitness and spending time outdoors cycling, hiking, camping, weightlifting and practicing yoga. He and his wife enjoy traveling, while also experiencing all the great culture and entertainment Chicago has to offer – visiting parks and museums, seeing live music and shows, dining out, and enjoying a great cup of coffee!
