As a Community Care Coordinator for Hanger Clinic, Carrie meets with and support patients before and after amputation surgery. She visits patients while they are in the hospital, in rehab or at home, and accompanies them to doctor appointments, guiding them through the process of healing until they are ready for their first prosthesis fitting. Carrie also connects patients to resources for emotional support through Hanger’s AMPOWER peer mentorship program.
Carrie serves as a liaison between patients and their medical team by sending physicians weekly emails that include photos of their patients’ incision lines and detailed information about healing. Carrie serves as a single point of contact to help patients navigate the process of returning to independence after amputation surgery.
