Travis Young, CPO

Clinic Manager

Travis Young is an ABC-certified Prosthetist/Orthotist and Clinic Manager for Hanger Clinic in Merced, California.

As a clinician, Travis is passionate about delivering care that is tailored to each patient’s life, activities, and comfort, a standard he witnessed firsthand growing up in an O&P family.

Travis’s path into the profession began at age 7, sweeping floors in his father’s practice. His father, Jim, is an above-knee amputee who experienced years of ill-fitting devices before finding care that truly worked for him, which led Jim to become a prosthetist and open his own practice in 2005. Travis worked alongside his father throughout high school and college, eventually moving into patient care.

Outside of work, Travis makes it a priority to give back to the O&P community. He has volunteered with OPAF First Clinics, the Georgia State Amputee Golf Tournament, the Challenged Athletes Foundation, and the College Park Extremity Games, and participates in the AOPA Policy Forum to advocate for the legislative rights of O&P users. Travis has served on the OPAF Board of Directors since 2017, including as Treasurer (2018–2020) and President (2020–2023).
