Dave is an ABC-certified prosthetist/orthotist and Clinic Manager for Hanger Clinic in Bettendorf and Dubuque, Iowa. He has been in the field of orthotics and prosthetics for more than 32 years, focusing on pediatrics for the majority of that time. Dave specializes in pediatric orthoses and prostheses, complex pediatric cases, and functional electrical stimulation (WalkAide®) for patients with foot drop. He focuses on improving life and mobility for his patients.
Dave is passionate about creating orthotic designs that will most improve his patients’ outcomes. He believes interdisciplinary care with a child’s physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, and family are integral in ensuring optimal results for his patients. He enjoys helping to make children more mobile and increase their ability to perform their daily activities.
Dave attends many pediatric clinics to enhance his ability to provide optimal collaboration with key components of the child’s medical team. He also volunteers with local pediatric-based organizations, such as Up With Families and Quad City AMBUCS, and he builds custom-made trikes for the local chapter.
Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time outdoors at his cabin, hiking, and gardening.
