Gwen is an ABC-certified orthotist and pediatric specialist for Hanger Clinic in Westchester, Illinois.
As a pediatric specialist with more than 15 years of experience, Gwen specializes in pediatric lower extremity orthoses, treating infants to young adults. She is skilled in the orthotic management of toe walking, cerebral palsy, cerebral vascular accident (CVA), spina bifida, spinal muscular atrophy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), Down syndrome, clubfoot, tibial hemimelia, various congenital foot deformities, hypotonia (abnormal tone), and all conditions effecting gait abnormalities. This includes expertise in pediatric functional electrical stimulation (FES) using the WalkAide® System.
Gwen pioneered the use of slow-motion video analysis in the field of orthotics, and is a national expert in tuning methodologies for ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs). Known for her cutting-edge practices, Gwen developed and uses the gold standard for successful toe walking treatment.
She has been passionate about the field of orthotics since she discovered it in high school. An artist at heart, Gwen loves designing unique devices to meet each child’s specific needs so they can walk, run, and decrease pain. She provides family-centered care, sharing information and answering questions, to ensure parents understand their child’s condition and are comfortable with the treatment plan.
Outside of work, Gwen loves traveling with family and friends.
