Originally developed while working with Winter the dolphin, WintersGel™ Prosthetic Liners offer a gentle adhesion that protects and cushions your skin, creating a more comfortable fit so you can wear your prosthetic leg longer.
WintersGel Prosthetic Liners create a soft, smooth cushion between the socket and prosthetic limb, improving comfort and enabling extended wear.
Using the same material worn by Winter, the star of “DolphinTale,” WintersGel Prosthetic Liners feature a soft, elastic nature and gentle adhesion that holds limbs securely under the most difficult conditions. A high circumferential stretch coupled with a limited vertical stretch improves limb conformability while limiting unwanted pistoning.These special features are especially beneficial for those with delicate skin, scar tissue, or other residual limb concerns.
WintersGel Prosthetic Liners are available in three versions: fabric locking liner, fabric cushioning liner, and non-fabric cushioning liner. The liners also come in two thicknesses and a wide range of sizes, and are suitable for children and adults (and dolphins).
Meet Winter the Dolphin
After Winter’s tail became entangled in a crab trap in 2005, two Hanger Clinic prosthetic experts stepped in to create a prosthetic tail, restoring her ability to swim. The WintersGel liner helps hold Winter’s prosthetic tail securely in place without irritating her delicate skin.
