Alexis “Lexi” Richard is a clinical resident completing her orthotic and prosthetic residency this year, for Hanger Clinic in San Diego, California.
As a resident, Lexi works with patients across all populations and diagnoses, providing individualized orthotic and prosthetic care tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. She is passionate about orthotics and prosthetics because it allows her to combine hands-on problem solving with compassionate, patient-centered care. Lexi truly enjoys building meaningful, personal relationships with her patients and is dedicated to helping them regain mobility, confidence, and independence through customized orthotic and prosthetic solutions.
In addition to her clinical experience, Lexi has experience lobbying at the state capitol for patient insurance reimbursement and improved orthotic and prosthetic coverage. She is deeply passionate about patient rights and believes strongly in advocating for her patients—both inside and outside of the clinic—to ensure they receive the care and resources they deserve.
Outside of work, Lexi enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. She loves exploring new hiking trails, spending time at the beach, working out, cooking and trying new recipes, thrifting, listening to music across a wide range of genres, and spending quality time with friends and family.
