Barb is an ABC-certified orthotist for Hanger Clinic in Olivette and St. Louis, Missouri.
As a clinician with more than 30 years of experience in the field, Barb specializes in pediatrics and is skilled in the orthotic management of scoliosis, working alongside PTs who provide Schroth Therapy with bracing. She also treats children with myelomeningocele, cerebral palsy, cranial asymmetry, pectus carinatum, and other anomalies. In addition, she enjoys working with geriatric patients.
Barb’s clinical background includes caring for inpatients at children’s hospitals, working in outpatient multidisciplinary pediatric clinics, and partnering with schools to provide orthotic care to students. Her treatment approach centers on collaboration with the treating physician and therapy team so together they can choose the best possible solution for each patient they serve.
She’s passionate about working with people with special needs to help them reach their optimal level and goal. Being an orthotist allows her to use all of what she enjoys the most, including the medical field, working with her hands, and thinking outside the box. She loves working with children and their families as they work to do what’s best for the child.
Outside of work, Barb enjoys being a mom to her two remaining kids at home, which is the most challenging and rewarding job of her lifetime. She lives in a 100-year-old house that is always needing attention. She enjoys kayaking and pickleball. She also enjoys her pets, which always include at least two dogs, along with the occasional ferret, bearded dragon, mice, and fish.
