Ben is an ABC-certified Prosthetist/Orthotist for Hanger Clinic in Austin, Texas.
Following graduation from high school in San Antonio, Ben obtained a bachelors of science degree at Marshall University in chemistry. He worked as a quality control chemist in the nutraceutical industry prior to pursuing a post bachelor’s degree in orthotics and prosthetics from California State University and the University of Hartford respectively. Ben completed his orthotic residency at Hanger Clinic in Bremerton, WA followed by his prosthetics residency at Pacific Medical. Following certification, Ben served as practice manager at Pacific Medical in the greater Tacoma area for 10 years managing two clinics. During his tenure in this position, Ben established a residency program in his region teaching students the vital and necessary skills to provide comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care.
Ben is driven by the desire to help others optimize functional potential and believes that actively listening and engaging patients are key components in the process. He has additional certifications in advanced prosthetic and orthotic technologies including microprocessor knees, elevated vacuum sockets, myoelectric driven systems, and stance control devices. He enjoys the critical thinking processes involved with helping people overcome unique obstacles and challenges via the design and implementation of individualized solutions.
