Jim is a graduate of the NYU O&P Program and a licensed, ABC-certified prosthetist/orthotist. He has broad experience working with pediatric patients as well as patients of all ages, providing O&P care including upper extremity prosthetics and lower extremity orthotics. He also specializes in treating contracture management in UMN patients. Jim has served as orthotist for several college and professional sports teams and enjoys studying the mechanism of injury and biomechanics.
Jim started his career working mostly in pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital. He then moved to Tennessee, where he worked Vanderbilt Hospital and in private practice before starting his own practice in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and then joining the Hanger Clinic team. He is a past president and Fellow of the Academy and past vice-president of the NAAOP. He currently serves on the OPERF board of directors, and recently completed 10 years of service as Chair of the Education Committee.
Jim has been an adjunct instructor for PT and PTA programs and continues to provide O&P instruction for the UTC Doctorate Program in PT and the Chattanooga State PTA Program.
He is a certified alpine ski instructor for Special Olympics and enjoys working with athletes in adaptive sports. He is an avid cyclist and hunter.
