Mika is a Community Care Coordinator for Hanger Clinic in Missouri and Kansas.

For 5 years, Mika worked as a case manager in the Kansas foster care system. In the fall of 2018, she was in a traumatic car accident. She elected to have her right foot amputated below the knee. In June of 2021, Mika started working with new amputee’s as the Heartland Community Care Coordinator. She meets with all new prosthetic patients before surgery and supports them from amputation to ambulation. She has a thorough understanding of prosthetics, serving as a point of contact for all new amputees as they transition through the care continuum. She ensures patients and family members are provided with educational materials, appropriate community resources, and emotional support like amputee support groups and AMPOWER peer visitation. Mika attends physician visits with patients and maintains accurate and complete patient files while supporting patients through these trying times.
