Richard is an Orthotic Fitter for Hanger Clinic in Washington, DC. He has worked in the O&P field since 2005.
After studying military history as an undergraduate, Richard’s interest in prosthetics was piqued by an army veteran with a transtibial amputation. Richard completed his O&P education through the Newington Certificate program. He trained as a prosthetic resident at Hanger Clinic in Toledo, Ohio, and completed his orthotic residency at Orthotic Solutions in Fairfax, Virginia, where he continued working, primarily as a pediatric orthotist, for years.
After a decade of working in pediatrics, Richard decided to expand his experience in the field by working with adults in a hospital setting, where he continues to work today. His passion for helping patients return to optimal quality of life and a positive clinical experience fuels his sense of purpose. He absolutely loves bringing a smile to the faces of his patients and always approaches his patients with empathy and an open ear to their concerns and goals.
