Tamara is an ABC-certified pedorthist for Hanger Clinic in New Mexico. As a CPed, Tamara casts and digitally scans to create custom durable medical equipment to help patients with pain management and recovery. Before Tamara received her certification in 2018, she was a certified orthotic fitter and a medical assistant, specializing in podiatry. She’s been a vital member of the DME team at Hanger Clinic since 2012.

Tamara has advanced knowledge of diabetic shoe fitting and custom orthotic fitting, and has assisted with fabricating an array of lower extremity custom braces. She works with healthcare providers to identify the specific cause of, and solution for, foot and ankle pain for a range of foot conditions, using her expertise and skills to observe bone structure, ankle joints, nerves, circulation, and even skin conditions.

Tamara is fluent in both Spanish and English. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico and when visiting friends in New Mexico, came to appreciate the beautiful scenery and climate in the Land of Enchantment and permanently moved here over a decade ago. In her spare time, Tamara likes to hike the Sandia Mountains and the surrounding trails, as well as travel to new places.
