Jim is an ABC-certified orthotist and member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP). He is on the Executive Board for the New England Chapter of the AAOP, and formerly served as president. He has served on the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association’s National Assembly Planning Programming Committee for several of their national meetings.

Jim received his Bachelor and Master degrees from Norwich University and earned a certificate in Orthotics and Prosthetics from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Jim uses his specialized training to help adults with neurological conditions, including ALS and CMT. He also has applied expertise in pediatric and adolescent treatments and conditions, such as spinal scoliosis management, cranial remolding, muscular dystrophies and neurological disorders. He participates in several local multi-disciplinary adult and pediatric rehabilitation clinics.

Prior to joining Hanger Clinic, Jim was the Clinical Director and Manager of the Orthotics and Prosthetics Department at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and served as staff orthotist for The Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers.

When not at work, Jim likes to spend time with his family and work outdoors, specifically as a sugarmaker. Funnily enough, he doesn’t actually enjoy maple syrup, but he does love every aspect of the process, especially that it’s something he can do all four seasons.
