Pete is an ABC-certified prosthetist/orthotist for Hanger Clinic in Saint Joseph, Michigan.
As a clinician with over 20 years of experience, Pete specializes in adult prosthetics, pediatric orthotics, and cranial remolding helmets. His is well versed in a wide range of orthotics including orthopedic footwear, knee braces for osteoarthritis, lightweight braces for CVA or multiple sclerosis, and custom ankle orthoses for tendon insufficiency or Charcot foot.
Pete obtained his degree from the Division of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle and worked for 10 years at the Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah where he designed custom spinal braces for scoliosis and prosthetic devices for children with limb differences. At Shriners Hospital, he invented a novel prosthetic knee for toddlers with lower limb deficiencies and assisted in the development of a casting protocol for infantile and juvenile scoliosis.
Pete has designed unique adaptive devices for sports and for playing musical instruments. He approaches every adaptive need with an open mind and has a passion for the biomechanics of gait. He enjoys helping patients to improve function and mobility in their lives.
