Christina (CC) Cacciola is a community care coordinator for Hanger Clinic in East Syracuse, New York.
As a community care coordinator, CC has many years of experience working alongside patients with limb loss and limb difference in various roles. She meets with all new prosthetic patients before surgery and supports patients from amputation to ambulation. She is equipped with a thorough understanding of prosthetics and orthotics, serving as a single point of contact for all new amputees as they transition through the continuum of care. She ensures patients and family members are provided with educational materials, appropriate community resources, and emotional support through AMPOWER peer visitation. Christina will personally guide and support new amputees between the surgeon, hospital and prosthetic care providers to aid them during this transitionary period of their lives.
During her time working in Occupational Therapy, she held caseloads in both the early intervention and skilled nursing settings. As an adaptive ski instructor in Aspen, CO she worked with veterans, the Tennessee School for the Blind, and many other individuals of all ages and abilities. Most recently as a clinical assistant and certified fitter, she supported prosthetists and orthotists in evaluating, fitting, and adjusting orthotic and prosthetic devices.
