BAKA Bootcamp 2023

Hanger Clinic is hosting two Bilateral Above Knee Amputee (BAKA) Bootcamps in 2023: Atlanta, GA in June and Kansas City, MO in October.

First up to bat is Atlanta, GA – the hometown of the Atlanta Braves, where we’ll be hosting a mobility clinic at their home stadium, Truist Park.

If you are a person with bilateral above-knee limb loss or limb difference, don’t miss out on attending this year’s Bootcamp. No matter your mobility level, you will be inspired to “Decide to Rise” to the next level of your abilities. You will be challenged and encouraged by your peers with limb loss, along with an exceptional Hanger Clinic team, led by Kevin Carroll, MS, CP, FAAOP/D.

Activities and Topics include:

• Men’s and Women’s support groups
• Navigating ramps, stairs, curbs, uneven terrain
• Mobility training at the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Stadium
• Adaptive driving
• New technologies and specialized activity prosthetics
• Strength training
• Skincare products and tips
• Phantom pain management

• Badge and Bag pick up: June 7 from 4 – 6 p.m.
• Event begins June 8 at 8 a.m. and ends June 10 at noon.

Fully accessible rooms are limited, so please book early if you need an accessible room. You may also ask for a shower chair.

Travel

The nearest airport to the hotel is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The hotel does not have an airport shuttle and attendees are on their own for airport transportation. If accessible transportation is needed, email [email protected] and the events team will assist.
