Kristan is an ABC-certified prosthetist/orthotist for Hanger Clinic and a Maui resident since 2016.

As a clinician with nearly 20 years of clinical experience, Kristan provides comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic care. She brings a wealth of expertise from a variety of care settings, including pediatric hospitals, VA facilities, and trauma centers. Before moving to Maui, Kristan practiced at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle’s Level 1 Trauma Center.  Here she collaborated with the states leading amputation orthopedic surgeon, rehab doctors and therapists in the care plans of complex trauma and amputation cases.

Kristan earned her degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Washington in 2006 and completed her residencies at Shriner’s Hospital For Children and the VA. She earned dual certification in 2009. During her time on Maui before Hanger Clinic opened its Maui location, Kristan served as a float clinician for Hanger Clinic traveling across the country to provide care where needed. This experience gave her a unique opportunity to observe and participate in a wide array of care plans and styles making her familiar with both fundamentals and leading technology in the field of prosthetics and orthotics.

Outside of work, Kristan lives on Maui with her husband, who is born and raised here on island. A surfer while living in Washington State, she now enjoys Maui freediving, spearfishing, reef cleaning, and staying at Haleakala crater cabins.
