Matthew is an ABC-Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist for Hanger Clinic in Austin, Texas. He is an Austin native whom obtained his undergraduate degree in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in Manufacturing Engineering from Texas State University. He worked in the Semiconductor industry as a Diffusion Equipment Engineer for 3 years before choosing to pursue a career in the medical field. He considered physical therapy and while volunteering at Christus Santa Rosa hospital in San Antonio, TX, he was exposed to the world of Orthotics and Prosthetics. Fascinated with orthotics and prosthetics, Matthew then volunteered at MK Prosthetic & Orthotic Services in San Antonio, TX, where he developed a passion for the field. Enjoying the various elements that comprise O&P such as clinical assessment, patient interaction and technical fabrication, Matthew realized he had discovered a very rewarding career where he could apply his talents to benefit others. He pursued his post-graduate prosthetic and orthotic education at California State University – Dominguez Hills, graduating in 2008. Matthew subsequently completed a rigorous two year residency program at MK Prosthetic & Orthotic Services where he gained expansive experience treating patients and in practice management. He was promoted to Practice Manager in 2010 and continued to serve in this role after Hanger Clinic acquired the practice in 2011.
As the clinic manager, he is responsible for supervising and directing company workflow, recruiting, training, ensuring practice growth and most importantly patient satisfaction.
