Shawn Smith is a Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist and serves as the Orthotic Specialist for the Grand Rapids market with Hanger Clinic.

As a clinician with 15 years of experience in the orthotics and prosthetics field, all of which have been with Hanger, Shawn specializes in adult lower extremity orthotics and also provides care for patients with lower extremity prosthetic needs. She has advanced experience with microprocessor-controlled knee-ankle-foot orthoses, including the C‑Brace and Agilik systems, and enjoys working with patients who have complex mobility challenges.

Shawn works closely with the outpatient physical therapy teams at Corewell Health’s West Pavilion and East Beltline locations, collaborating with physical therapists and physicians to support coordinated, team-based care. She enjoys getting to know her patients and working together with them to achieve their goals. Shawn is passionate about helping patients improve their mobility and function so they can return to the activities that matter most to them.
