Bio

Carrie was born with a below-elbow congenital limb deficiency and has worn a prosthesis since she was nine months old.  She credits her life’s journey in and around the prosthetics industry for inspiring her to become the woman she is today. 

Carrie is considered a leader in healthcare’s patient experience movement and serves as the VP of Patient Experience at Hanger Clinic overseeing the Patient Experience Department. She has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences including the Cleveland Clinic Empathy and Innovation Conference, the Next Generation of Patient Experience Conference, TEDx and HIMSS TV and enjoys sharing her personal stories that influenced her dedication to self-discovery through service to others.    

As a lifelong prosthetic patient, she has drawn on her own experience, as well as partnering with patients, caregivers and colleagues, to intentionally design transformative patient experiences at Hanger Clinic.  Carrie has over 20 years’ experience in various roles in the O&P field, including marketing and leading the nationwide AMPOWER peer-support program and is a J.E. Hanger Award recipient, the highest honor of recognition in the organization. 

Carrie has a background in education and a Master’s degree from Gonzaga University in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in servant-leadership. She is grateful every day that she is able to assist in the lives of others through her participation in patient care and organizational transformation in the healthcare space.
